English Skills for a Career as a Certified Nursing Assistant
This program is open to currently enrolled ESL students at Milpitas Adult Education and members of the community.
This program will help you build the necessary technical, workplace and language skills to transition into the Certified Nursing Assistant Program at SBCAE-affiliated community colleges.
What will you Learn?
You will review over 150 CNA keywords and phrases.
You will solidify your knowledge of the main concepts and topics that are key to the role of a CNA by learning from medical personnel, video simulations, and experienced CNAs.
You will reinforce key knowledge and skills needed to succeed as a CNA.
You will watch examples of daily CNA tasks and situations to prepare for hands-on experience.
Highlights:
16-week program beginning in October 2024.
8 units 80 lessons
Class meets once a week on Wednesdays 6-8:30 p.m. Attendance mandatory.
Assignments and self-study for a minimum of 12 hours per week.
Pre-requisites
Incoming students are required to take the CASAS Reading and Listening assessments.
Minimum 210 score in CASAS Reading and Listening assessments for acceptance into the program.
